Volodymyr Lytvyn, Chairman of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, expects the Parliament to adopt the State Budget for 2011 by the end of the year.
Asked whether the Parliament will meet the deadlines for adopting the budget, V.Lytvyn responded, "We have already passed the deadline, as the budget should have been adopted by 1 December." However, he stated, "Reforms are ongoing, so the budget shall be adopted by the New Year."
According to the Head of the Ukrainian Parliament, the draft budget will be adjusted before the second reading to meet the provisions of the Budget Code.
The Chairman of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine stressed, "The Budget shall be adopted, and there is no other way out."
